Progress Shots

They’re always fun.  This is a portrait that I did recently; she wanted it to be realistic, but cartoony.

“Johnny”

This is a pencil portrait that I did many moons ago of the handsome (and ridiculous) Johnny Knoxville. For those of you who don’t know, in the early 2000’s Johnny Knoxville hosted the popular t.v. show “Jackass”, which earned its name by pulling off (or not) the most tremendously absurd stunts and practical jokes ever to be seen on television. Clearly you can see why I would have liked it!

So heeeeeere’s Johnny!

Female Study #1

Over the past few years I’ve spent a great deal of time experimenting with a variety of different art mediums such as oil paints, watercolors, pastels and clay. However, in my pursuit to master these new mediums, I seem to have neglected my roots: pencil drawing.

In order to rectify this and to sharpen my drawing skills, I decided to focus on three pencil studies. I’m almost finished with the second drawing and haven’t yet started the third, but my first study is complete.

So, here I present to you a female study of the beautiful Jessica Stam:
